Consisting of a simple girder bridge, this structure was the northern crossing of four bridges over the Yahara River in Madison.
Built in 1903, the bridge was a simple 75-foot Span, resting on stone abutments. It was a double tracked bridge, although only one track was used.
It crossed just upstream of the Trail Bridge. This are once had four railroad crossings, all which still exist.
In late 2019, the bridge was removed and replaced by a new structure. It is believed there may have been serious deterioration on the bridge at the time of replacement.
The author has ranked the bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
The photo above is an overview. The bridge could be accessed from the parallel trail bridge.
